There's not supposed to be a huge massive gap like that between 1080p and the higher resolutions (even 1440p).įor comparison, I stressed ROTTR (basically all ultra) with some useless extra SSAA and ran the same resolutions through it: 57.7fps (basically bouncing against my 60fps framerate limiter) I ran the benchmark on 1080p, 1440p and 4k (aka. shadows from Ultra to On impacted the framerate about +5fps on 4k in interior spaces, so not much. but nope, firing on all cylinders, just running DX:MD really poorly!Ĭommon tips -> lowering volumetric lighting and c.h. When I saw the poor performance I immediately went to other games to check whether it was just my machine acting up. Combined with the weird mouse acceleration the game feels really bad to play! :(Įdit: forgot to mention, I'm obviously running the latest drivers with the DX:MD support. The framerate and framedrops also interfere with the wsad controls, the controls don't feel consistent when there are slowdowns. Switching menus feels really laggy and brings the framerate close to zero. Also the framerate is all over the place, it surges all the time, and hiccups when loading stuff. I'm getting about 25-30 fps when there's anything substantial going on (or substantial viewdistance), 35-40 max in a lighter scene. My machine specs/firestrike (gets about 45-55fps in ROTTR and solid 60 in DOOM with similar settings)

Thank goodness I'm not the only one with poor performance.
